Sofia Gets on hands and knees & back to sitting
Another milestone!! Sofia has been doing a lot of hollering this week. I guess it's because her brain is processing all of these new things that she's doing. Today she went from sitting to her hands and knees. One of her legs has been getting stuck under her body for about a month now. She finally got it unstuck and was in the official crawl position then went back to sitting.
She moves around now on her own by scooting on her butt. She picks up her butt and does a cartwheel looking move and that's how she moves around. According to something that I read, it's considered "crawling" whenever they move from one place to another - no matter how they get there!! And she can move about 4 -5 feet at a time now. YAY!

Sofia Sits herself up from her tummy
I don't have a picture or video of it, but Sofia sat herself up from being on her tummy ALL BY HERSELF!! WOO-HOO!!!! We were a little worried that she wasn't doing this yet, so I made an appointment at the pediatrician for Thursday. Of course, 2 days before the appointment she does it!! I guess that's just murphy's law! She's growing up :o)

Almond-Rubio Family SICK!!
Unfortunately I haven't posted on the blog since before I went to Winston-Salem because our entire family has been sick for about a week and a half!! It's been ROUGH. Kelsey went to a temporary babysitter for a couple of days before coming to our house and we think she cought something there. Anyway, Kelsey got sick, Stacy got sick, Alex got sick (Kelsey's dad), I got sick, Nathan got sick and Sofia got sick. Today was the first day that Sofia felt OK. She was happier than she has been for a week. We all had some really contagious YUCKY flu virus. Stacy's version was the vomiting type. Sofia and Nathan had this version. Alex had the fever and other type of vomit type. Sofia had this version too! Poor thing. She was sick from both ends and ran a fever. We ended up in the emergency room at 6:30 am Saturday because she had thrown up 14 times in a 12 hour period! They were afraid that she might be dehydrated. They didn't do much for her. Told us that I needed to stop nursing her and just give her Pedialyte for 6 hours. But she was miserable with that. She was so hungry and wanted to nurse for food and for comfort. I finally got a hold of our pediatrician on Saturday late morning (the pediatrician's calls are forwarded to a nurse line after midnight) and she said that she wondered why the hospital had not given us the "stop vomitting" pill. She called that in to the pharmacy and once we gave that to Sofia, she finally stopped vomitting!! And the pediatrician told me to nurse, nurse, nurse her!! That the breastmilk was going to keep her energy up AND keep her from getting dehydrated! That's why I LOVE our pediatrician (she's the 3rd one that we've tried in the Atlanta area!)!! It worked. Sofia stopped vomitting (mostly) and was eating and not crying as much because she could nurse!
Anyway, we are all feeling better now. Nathan even missed a few days of work! SAD!!! I guess we can chalk it up to Mami's learning experience and Sofia building up her immune system. Kelsey is feeling better now too. We hope to get back to our trips to the park and walks on the Chattahoochee very soon!!!
