Aunt Leanne came through Atlanta to spend some time with her nieces and nephews at her dad's house in south Georgia. She stopped by to say hello to the girls (and me :o).

Uncle Andy's 60th Birthday Party

Uncle Andy's girls, Carolyn (right) and Ellen (left), threw him a surprise 60th birthday party at an Irish pub in Decatur. They had a HUGE turn-out and people stayed a long time - especially since the food was awesome and the beers were included!!! We had a really great time!!

Here is Ashley (Uncle Andy's ex's daughter - who is also Ellen's best friend), her daughter Hunter Reece, Doug, Nathan, and Sofia.

Sofia and Hunter Reece got along pretty well :o)

Here is Hunter Reece workin' her mom's shoes :o)

Aunt Sheila (the girl's Aunt - mom's sister) working some magic with Jaquelyn.

Sofia LOVES her "Unka Andy."

My Birthday - Braves Game

For my birthday we went to the Braves vs. Yankees baseball game. Of course, the Braves won! Uncle Andy, Doug, Nathan, Jaquelyn and I went. Sofia stayed home with Grandmother. She just can't sit still that long. Jaquelyn needs to go to more Braves games because every time she goes, we win!!!

Here is Jaquelyn taking a snack/snooze break and Uncle Andy!

Here are Doug and his favorite player - A-Roid :o)

One of our last times seeing Jeff Francoeur as a Brave :o(
Here are my birthday tulips from Nathan. Look at the colors!!!

Steve and Katy Visit/Sofia's Birthday/Father's Day

Steve and Katy came to visit the weekend of Sofia's 2nd birthday. Unfortunately Sofia got sick that weekend and we had to cancel her birthday party, but we ended up having a celebration anyway with family. We also celebrated Father's day and MY birthday that weekend.

Here are some cute pictures of Jaquelyn's chunky thighs :o) These are always good to share.

Gable came and hung out with us most of the weekend. Here he is looking cute with Katy. By the way, doesn't Katy look great?!?!?!?!?!?! She's lost a lot of weight on Weight Watchers - WOW!!!!

Elaine also came for Sofia's birthday festivities.

And so did Linda. Here she is helping to cook - as usual :o)

Here is a picture of Sofia's birthday present from Uncle Doug - pink Converse high tops (you can tell she doesn't feel great in this picture - awww!)

Here is the Father's Day dinner crew. Nathan made his famous ribs and Katy's friend Linayda (sp?) made some DELICIOUS greens! No Almond meal would be complete without corn :o)

Here is Doug's doggie, Joe Dirt, sittin' pretty for the camera!

Sofia opened up her birthday presents and all of the dad's father's day presents and my birthday presents! She's going to get used to this as her birthday will always be close to Father's day and 2 days before mine!!!!

Grandaddy and Katy with the girls.

The ALMOND crew in attendance for the Father's Day dinner: Carolyn, Uncle Andy, Jaquelyn, Grandaddy, Doug, Nathan and Sofia - and Gable (he's almost an Almond)!

Sofia playing with her birthday present from Grandmother - a Play Dough ice cream making set! VERY COOL - except when Sofia tries to eat the "ice cream."

Sofia gets a hold of my make-up

I put my make-up on the top of the banister downstairs (where I put most things I want to take upstairs that I don't want Sofia to touch). However, I've now figured out that she's tall enough to reach them!!!!! She grabbed my make-up and went to town with the mineral powders and brushes before I knew what she was up to. In my opinion, she did pretty well!!!

She LOVES Elmo!! Here she is showing him off with her make-up job!

Homegrown tomatoes

We live in the ATL, but we are growing our own tomatoes and squash in pots in the front of our house. I'm sure our neighbors appreciate this :o) But I wanted to show Sofia what vegetables look like while they are growing and changing every day.

Here is our first tomato! Sofia is chowing down!!!!!!

Sofia goes "caca" in her potty

We are VERY excited that Sofia is potty training!! Today she "caca-ed" in the potty for the first time!! She did it all by herself too!!! She's been running around with no pants on for a while so that when she has the urge she can tell me and we can go on the potty. Today she came to get me while I was cooking dinner and said "Muy bien, Mami!" I said "muy bien, que?" She took me to her potty in the playroom to show me that she has pooped in it all by herself!! MUY BIEN SOFIA!!!!!!!

I have some great pictures of this conquest, but for privacy (and grossness) reasons I won't post them :o)

Sofia Nursing her "Bebe"

Like mother, like daughter :o) TOO, TOO CUTE!!!!!!!!

Hanging out at our neighborhood pool

Our neighborhood pool opened Memorial Day weekend. It's so great having a pool so close. We've already been using it a lot this year. Sofia loves it and Jaquelyn is usually asleep in her stroller or in my arms while we are playing in the pool.

I hosted the AP playgroup and here are some of the moms hanging out at our pool.

Sofia cleaning Rubi's Paws & Nathan's backyard

Here are a couple of cute videos I found that I thought you'd want to see.

Here is Sofia cleaning Rubi's paws. We do this before they come into the house when it's been raining. She learns EVERYTHING we do - SCARY!!

And here is Nathan's beautiful backyard.

The Girls in their 4th of July outfits

Gotta get the wear (and pictures) out of these outfits from Grandmother (Sofia's) and Grandaddy (Jaquelyn's) before they don't fit Jaquelyn anymore!!!

And here is Sofia cleaning Dudley's paws before he is allowed in the house :o)
Sofia is loving her popsicles these days. I bought those plastic containers that you can freeze your own popsicles so that I can make them from real juice instead of sugar! Unfortunately I was not very intelligent when making the first batch - I used purple grape juice - good thing she was wearing a red shirt that day! She knows she has to eat her popsicles OUTSIDE, though. They make a mess and she HAS to hold it herself :o)
