"La Michigan"

We decided to go check out the Christmas lights and decorations on Chicago's famous Michigan Avenue - "La Michigan." First we went and saw the Chicago "Jelly Bean." It's this HUMONGOUS jelly bean made of mirror-finished stainless steel. It's really cool because you can see reflections of the city's buildings on it. Here is Jorge posing in front of it. Also here are all of the Rubio-blooded people in front of the Jelly Bean.

After that we went to The Gap, the Apple store, ate Chicago's famous Garrett Popcorn http://www.garrettpopcorn.com/(we had the Chicago mix which is caramel popcorn mixed together with cheese popcorn - can I say YUMALICIOUS!!!! It was like that sweet/salty mix that tastes soooooo good), and then went to the American Girl Store. At American Girl we got to see all of the accessories that come for the Bitty Baby doll that Sofia received from her Grandmother Linda. We also saw the doll hair salon where for the low, low price of $20 your doll's hair can get a "do." What an amazing place!!! Here is Sofia (with Abuela Aidita) wanting to touch the dolls.

The highlight of the trip was getting to see the views of La Michigan from Papi's cousin's studio apartment on Michigan Avenue. AMAZING!! Here are a few pictures of that.

And finally we got to eat Chicago style pizza! You can't go to Chicago and not have that. The pizza is so thick that each of us could only eat one slice(well . . . the appetizers and salad we ate before the pizza came probably helped to fill us up a little too).
