Happy Mother's Day

Here are the fruits of my labor :o)

It was a really good day! Linda and Elaine came over. Nathan grilled the MOST amazing ribs I've ever had!! No joke - they were soooooo good. They took about 4 hours to smoke on our gas grill and we were starving by the time we ate (that might have been his plan to get us to like them :o), but it was totally worth the wait! It may have to become a Mother's Day tradition.

Here are some pictures from the day.

The girls and I.
Jaquelyn looking cutey.

Grandmother, Tanta, the girls and I (check out Sofia's picture smile - kind of looks like she got it from me :o)

Here is Nathan super tired after getting up with Sofia around 6 am Saturday and Sunday and cooking ribs all day!!! Thanks for your hard work hubby!!!!!!!

Here we are right before the meal.

And here are some cute pictures of each of us with the girls in their matching outfits!

Jaquelyn in her cute outfit.

Lila's New Haircut & AP Picnic

I've been wanting to cut my hair for about 3 years now, but every time I go to the salon I chicken out. Well . . . this time I DID IT!!!!! I finally decided that it was worth the risk and it could always grow back. I got it all chopped off and I LOVE it!!! The salon that I have been going to in Atlanta did a really good job. It looks better than I thought it would - my hair didn't get as curly as I thiught it would get once the weight of the length was cut off. I got it highlighted too. The best thing about it is that when I first wake up in the morning I don't look like Medusa. When I had my long hair I had to sleep with it in a bun and the frizzies always came out of the ponytail holder and I looked like Medusa until I geled it!! The second best thing about my new DO is that Nathan really likes it too :o)
Here we are at the Attachment Parenting picnic. It was at the Dunwoody Nature Center. It was nice to get to see most of the moms and kids that we play with on a weekly basis AND meet their husbands. Jaquelyn hug out in the Moby Wrap and Nathan and Sofia had a good time hanging out at the creek. Below is a really cute video of them at the creek!!!

I'm a Lil' Redneck

Uncle Doug bought Sofia this t-shirt last year in Alabama! IMAGINE?!?!?!?!?! She really likes it (for some reason :o)! Today she got her pants super dirty and I had to take them off. On my way upstairs to get her some clean ones, I thought that I had a good picture opportunity with the t-shirt and her in her diaper!!
THANKS DOUG :oP

"Aba" Lila Returns

My mom came back after giving her exam in Puerto Rico (here is Dudley giving her some love - telling her he's glad she came back!). She came for another week. It was really helpful having her here. I still needed some help figuring out how to maneuver 2 kids!! She cooked dinner a lot while she was here. Here is Sofia eating corn on the cob for the first time that Aba cooked.

Gracias Mami por sacar tiempo de tu vida para venir a ayudarnos!

New Trees in the Backyard

Nathan REALLY has been on a mission to get the backyard beautified! This weekend he and Doug busted their butts planting 8 Leyland Cipres trees along the back fence. There are several lots behind our house that will eventually have a townhouses on them. We want these trees to grow big and tall to block that view as much and as soon possible. THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Doug for spending his weekend with us doing yard work!!!!! Nathan could NOT have done it without him!!!! (I'll leave it to your imagination to figure out what Doug's shirt stands for :o)
Here is a video of the finished product!

Jaquelyn

Here are some cute pictures we've taken of Jaquelyn around the house.

Here she is wearing her new cloth diapers from Grandmother. They make her butt look big :0) Look how long she is!

Here she is wearing one of her newborn outfits. She got 1 to 2 wears out of them because they don't fit anymore! She's already wearing her 3 month onesies. Sofia didn't wear 3 month clothes until she was 3 months old!!! I guess that's the difference in the extra 2 weeks that Jaquelyn spent in my belly.

Here she is after her second bath. Awwwww! Look at those chubby cheeks.

And a sleepy yawn.
