Girl's Weekend 2008

My Georgia Tech girlfriends and I have been doing a Girl's Weekend for about 10 - 12 years! Every year we pick a spot where we can get together for a weekend to just catch up, drink, read stupid magazines, and talk some more. This year we went to Lake Burton. It's about 2 hours north of Atlanta near Clayton, Georgia. We rented a house on the lake and just hung out all weekend. We also rented a pontoon boat and rode around the lake Friday and Saturday. Since Sofia is still nursing, in order for me to be able to go on Girl's Weekend, she needed to be close by. Elaine and Nathan helped to keep her close by so that I could nurse her at night. We rented a room at the Days Inn in Clayton. On Friday Elaine kept her. She took her swimming at the motel's pool and for several walks in downtown Clayton and for an old-timey ice cream float at the local pharmacy. Here is a picture at the end of their day together on Friday. They had a blast.

Nathan came up after work on Friday and Elaine went back to our house to keep our dogs! On Saturday Daddy took Sofia on a walk at the Black Rock Mountain State Park. Then he took her to a wine tasting!! Daddy can be very creative when he needs to be!!

Overall it was a successful weekend! I got to hang out with the girls most of the weekend and Sofia got to keep nursing! YAY!! LIFE IS GREAT!!!!
