Visit with Cousin Luke

We went to visit Nathan's cousing Jason, his wife Emily and their baby Luke last Saturday. Luke is 9 months old (about 2 months older than Sofia). He is a chunky cutie boy!!! He was crawling and pulling himself up all over the place!! We had a great time just hanging out, talking and letting the babies play and nurse! We need to do that again soon!!!

Here are a few more pictures of Luke and Sofia.

Luke's not too happy sharing his mommy in this picture! FUNNY!!

Kelsey Taylor Brown

Stacy and Alex had their baby girl on January 17, 2008. She is absosolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! She weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 20" long.
I got to see her right before we left to go to Winston-Salem. What a cutie pie!!!! Sofia and I can't wait for her to get a little older so we can all play!!! Times like these are when I feel really thankful to be back in Atlanta.

Trip to Winston-Salem

We all went to Winston-Salem last week to attend the wedding reception of one of Nathan's Wake Forest teammates. Friday night we stayed at Aunt Leanne's house. Of course we brought along Sofia's swing! None of us sleep as well without it :o)

Aunt Leanne made Sofia a beautiful quilt!!! It's got frogs and bees and a cool bright colored pattern. WE LOVE IT and are so thankful for all of Aunt Leanne's hard work!!!!!! She actually made Nathan and I a quilt for our wedding too!!

Here is a picture of Sofia and Aunt Leanne on her new quilt.

Also, Leanne made a YUM lunch (including a batch of her famous chocolate chip cookies) and we invited some friends over that we hadn't seen in a while to enjoy it. Mike, Ken, Pat and Karen all came over. Here is a group portrait.

After lunch we headed over to Aunt Kris and Uncle Craig's house. They kept Sofia for us while we went to the wedding reception. This was the second time that we have ever left Sofia (the first time Aunt Kris kept her too while I went to Nathan's Wake graduation). We were gone for about 4.5 hours and she did OK. Kris and Carly fed her cereal to keep her from getting hungry and they even took her for a car ride to get her to go to sleep! FUN TIMES!! Here is a cute picture of Sofia, Will (Kris' nephew), Graham and Carly (Kris' kids) and I on Sunday.

Also, here is a picture of Kris and Craig's house that Carly took!! That's our car loaded down like we were going to be away from home for 3 weeks!!! That's what happens when you travel with a baby!!!

Getting OLD!!!

I haven't posted in a few days because I broke off a part of one of my molars on our way back from Winston-Salem Sunday afternoon!!! I was chewing gum (an old favorite past time of mine that I haven't really done too much since staying home with Sofia - I think I chewed gum for stress releif - Hanes and Nathan's driving gave me stress :o). I had to find a dentist in Atlanta on Monday (and unpack and clean the house) and then basically spent my whole day Tuesday getting a crown put in and refilling a cavity next to the crown so that tooth wouldn't break too!! I feel so old - only old people get crowns :o). It's weird - they have to basically grind down most of your old tooth and leave a nub to hook the crown into. I looked like Jethro without the crown!!! I've got a temporary cap on right now until the permanent one is made. It takes about 3 weeks for the permanent one to come in.

Needless to say, I won't be chewing gum any time soon!!!!!!

Sofia can bite her toes!

This is too funny!! She found her feet on Tuesday and now she can get them in her mouth all by herself!!! What a cutie pie - if I do say so myself :o)

Here are some other cute pictures of her sitting up while her daddy was getting her into her PJ's!

Sofia's first SOLIDS

We fed Sofia rice cereal for the first time last Thursday (Jan. 10th). The mixture was mostly breastmilk (1 TBSP. cereal / 3 TBSP. breastmilk), so she liked it pretty well. I was really surprised that she took it from the spoon so easily (seeing as though we never got her to take a bottle). We are having fun introducing her to different textures. Hopefully we'll try bananas next week. They say to try 1 new thing per week to make sure you know what they like/don't like or could possibly be allergic to. Here are a couple of videos of Nathan and I feeding her.

SNOW in Atlanta!!

It's snowing in Atlanta!!! I didn't even think that was possible, but it's definitely beautiful. It's actually snowing so much that it's sticking to the ground. Here's a quick video of Sofia and I in front of our house in the snow.
